Do you dream of enjoying relaxed walks with your faithful dog by your side, but the reality leaves you with your arms pulled out of their sockets and feelings of frustration & embarrassment?
Do you have a new puppy who thinks their lead is a teething ring?
Do you have an over excitable dog, that drags you out the door and round the block before you take breath?

How Each Dog Lead Training Session Works:

Shelley will first introduce you to the skills required to get your dog into a listening state of mind. She will observe your dogs’ behaviour and devise a programme tailor made for you & your dog.

This is a non dominant, mindful approach and relies on developing the connection between the human and the dog.

This method of working through human/animal connection creates an invisible lead that is so much stronger than an actual leash.

The results

The result is your dog walks by your side, regularly checking in with you and both human and dog benefit from this new connection.

How we helped Tobla learn to relax on the lead and stop pulling.

Shelley was called to support this human who was being pulled all over the place by her Malamut/Shepherd cross. He is so strong he was able to pull her over unless she wore the lead doubled around her body.

In the link below you will see Tobla on his second session, already massively improved. We used a non dominant method with patience and calmness but clear boundaries that allowed Tobla to self regulate his own behaviour and learn to walk beautifully and respectfully next to his human.

What To Expect On The Day:

The Consultation is in 2 sessions approx one week apart.  Each session lasts approximately an hour and a half.

In the first session, Shelley will:

  • Assess the environment to check that it is safe and conducive for the successful use of the Trust Technique® and if it is;
  • Demonstrate The Trust Technique® with your animal.
  • Discuss the impact the technique has had on your animal.
  • Teach you how to use the technique.
  • Observe you conducting the Trust Technique® with your animal,  providing you with feedback and support.
  • Leave you with some exercises to practice before the next session.

The follow up visit will be approximately one week later and is included in the price.

During this session, Shelley will:

  • Answer any questions & discuss any changes in behaviour or wellbeing of your animal.
  • Work with your animal.
  • Review your use of the Technique so you feel confident using this method..

By now you will be recognising the benefits of this way of teaching your animal, you will have learned how to be there for them, as they begin to self regulate their behaviours in a positive & cooperative way.  You will be starting to fully enjoy your time together, rather than trying to control unwanted & stressful behaviours.

If more input is required, Shelley will then recommend an individual programme of one to one sessions, tailor made to suit you and your animal.

These sessions may take place either at their home or out and about on dog walks or rides etc. wherever most needed.
